mp6 doubles pressure

A powerful new member of the Bartels Mikrotechnik micropump family

(PresseBox) (Dortmund, ) The high potential of micropumps is being utilized by more and more sectors as diverse as household technologies and the automobile industry. As the requirements concerning the transport of liquids and gases vary from case to case, not every application can be realized using the same characteristics. With its latest generation of micropumps, the mp6, Bartels Mikrotechnik now provides a new set of possibilities for all users.

First introduced at the Hanover Fair 2008, the novel pump doubles the pressure of its predecessor mp5: Due to its double actuator system, the mp6 can handle backpressures of up to 500 mbar. Further significant improvements consist in an enhanced self-priming function and a higher bubble tolerance. A modified drive signal reduces the pumping sound to a minimum, even when the maximum flow rate of 5 ml per minute is reached. With its dimensions of only 37 x 15 x 3.5 mm³ including fluidic connectors, the mp6 is an astonishingly small power pack.

Bartels Mikrotechnik's micropumps mp5 and mp6 are designed to provide the flexible platform for a wide range of applications. The principle of the piezo membrane pump is very simple, so that the basic devices can easily be adapted to manifold requirements', product manager Severin Dahms explains. A larger flow range? Special material demands? Higher flow accuracy? No problem, the customer decides.

Some prototypes of adapted pump versions exemplify these possibilities at Bartels Mikrotechnik's booth at Hanover Fair 2008. A high pressure pump, a version with increased volume flow and a controlled-loop micropump will be exhibited in hall 6, booth F 16 / K 1.

A new component of the available auxiliary equipment for mp5 and mp6 will be introduced as well: Bartels now offers a valve with positive opening pressure to control the backflow when the pump is not operating.

Bartels Mikrotechnik at the Hanover Fair April 21st to 25th 2008 at the MicroTechnology, hall 6, booth F 16 / K 1

!! A general presentation for journalists is scheduled for April 21st 2008, 2 pm, at the booth.

Technical data about mp5 and mp6 as well as information concerning the available controllers and auxiliary equipment can be found on
