Arrow Electronics hat gemeinsam mit dem italienischen Technologieberatungsunternehmen @m2el ein Energy Harvesting Evaluation Kit entwickelt, mit dem Anwender Daten über Module senden und empfangen können, die über Solarenergie oder Temperaturunterschiede mit Strom versorgt werden. Das Kit hat die Bezeichnung "The Drop" und ist mit Komponenten von Atmel und Linear Technology ausgestattet, die aufgrund ihres niedrigen Energieverbrauchs und ihrer Eignung für Energy-Harvesting-Anwendungen ausgewählt wurden.
