Alpiq announces that this morning the Italian Antitrust Authority (AGCM) and Customs Authority (Guardia di Finanza) began a joint inspection of Alpiq's Milan branch following a preliminary investigation (Art. 14 Law 287/90) in order to verify any potential violations of TFUE Article 101 (Section 1).
The preliminary antitrust investigation follows an investigation launched in January 2009 by the Italian Energy & Gas Authority (AEEG) to evaluate price dynamics on the market, especially in Sicily region. The investigation is related to Alpiq's minority share in the Edipower assets.
