Translators and language service providers from the world over recently met at the Elia Together in Berlin, Germany: Across Systems, manufacturer of a translation management system, was one of the exhibitors. At their stand, the company especially drew attention to the online network crossMarket, on which Across users can find each other for collaboration and exchange purposes.

The Elia (European Language Industry Association) has created the Together events in order to offer freelance translators and language service providers a platform for interchange of experience and intensified networking.

Tanja Wendling, Head of Marketing at Across Systems, says: "In today's digital world, business contacts are increasingly established and maintained through Internet portals.  However, events such as Elia Together remain important to enable direct exchange and promote the understanding between translators and their customers. For us, the Elia Together was a fine opportunity to meet our users personally. At the conference, numerous translators actively approached Across in order to test the Across Translator Edition – the Across variant for freelance translators. This application is part of the crossMarket membership and offers a full-fledged translation environment including translation memory, terminology system, quality assurance, and project management.
