Schlüsselprojekt für die Strom- und Wasserversorgung Katars

ABB Deutschland hat den Auftrag erhalten, das Gasturbinenkraftwerk Ras Abu Fontas in Katar für 44 Millionen US-Dollar auszurüsten und in Betrieb zu nehmen. Dabei handelt es sich um ein Schlüsselprojekt für die Strom- und Wasserversorgung des Golfstaats. Auftraggeber ist General Electric, die für das nationale Versorgungsunternehmen Qatar Electricity and Water Company das Gesamtprojekt leitet. Bereits im Februar 2007 soll die erste Maschine in Betrieb genommen werden, um rechtzeitig die starke Nachfrage nach Wasser und Elektrizität in den Sommermonaten befriedigen zu können.
