Gesetzliche Pflicht zur Empfängerüberprüfung – Mehr Sicherheit im Zahlungsverkehr

Seit dem 9. Oktober 2025 gilt die neue gesetzliche Pflicht zur Empfängerüberprüfung (Verification of Payee, VoP) im Überweisungsverkehr. Ziel des Gesetzes ist es, den Zahlungsverkehr noch sicherer zu machen und Betrug wirksam zu bekämpfen.

Bei jeder Überweisung in Euro wird künftig der Zahlungsempfänger mit der angegebenen IBAN abgeglichen. Weichen Name und IBAN voneinander ab, muss entschieden werden, ob die Überweisung trotzdem ausgeführt wird.

Für Einzelüberweisungen im Privatbereich ist die Prüfung verpflichtend. Bei Sammelüberweisungen von Unternehmen besteht jedoch eine Wahlmöglichkeit: Eine Deaktivierung der Empfängerüberprüfung ist hier möglich.

Die Neuerung betrifft ausschließlich Überweisungen, die direkt aus der Software per EBICS an das Kreditinstitut übermittelt werden.
