MODERSOHN® MK6 — The best of two worlds

Leviat presents a new generation of masonry support anchors

(PresseBox) (Spenge/Düsseldorf, )
Wilhelm Modersohn GmbH & Co KG, based in Spenge in the East part of North Rhine-Westphalia, is one of the market leaders in the construction industry for manufacture and distribution of façade fixing systems, particularly from Lean Duplex stainless steel. As part of Leviat, a CRH company, Modersohn has been focused intensively on developing their products over the last two years.

The result is a new generation of masonry support anchors. MODERSOHN® MK6 is an optimized bracket system that ensures a secure, economical and durable fixing of brickwork to the load-bearing structure. The new hybrid masonry support anchor benefits from the technical advantages of the Modersohn and Halfen HK5 systems.

As part of Leviat, a new product development group was assigned specifically for the optimization of the new hybrid masonry support anchors, with influences from the Research & Development, Technical, Pricing, Sales and Marketing Departments, and for the first time by Modersohn, Product Management.

"The coordinated launch by a Product Manager is new for us. The stakeholders were informed and involved in the status of the development from start to finish. Additionally, the route to market through a Key Account Manager and external Sales Managers is also a new commercial experience at Modersohn" explains Managing Director Dipl.-Ing. Jürgen Matzelle that sees the new way of working as a positive development.

Leviat, a global supplier of lifting, connecting and anchoring technologies for the construction and industrial sectors, offers its customers a better service and product quality, particularly through the synergy effects of its Halfen and Modersohn brands, which are well known in the German construction industry.

Like its predecessor systems, the new MK6 masonry support anchor made of Lean Duplex stainless steel, can support high loads with a slim design and high corrosion resistance (CRC III to V). The system is available with load classes 4.0 kN, 8.0 kN and 12.0 kN and for cavity dimensions of up to 450 mm. The optimized shape enables reduced heat transfer. The quality of the MK6 is confirmed by the DIBt approval of the bracket head, type tested brackets and the CE marking in accordance with EN 845-1.

The product portfolio includes various types of the MK6 masonry support anchors for a wide range of applications. Safe installation, easy handling on the construction site and vertical adjustability of ± 20 mm are further impressive features of this optimized system.

As a cost-effective solution and to ensure the continued provision of its customary services to customers, the company Leviat plans to commission the MODERSOHN® MK6 bracket anchors at its Spenge site.

Leviat confirms that the current masonry support anchor systems from Modersohn and Halfen are still included in the product range and will only gradually be replaced by the MK6.
