Weidmüller's ACT20M passive isolator: one and two-channel passive isolators with 6-mm design

High process reliability: electrical isolation in signal circuits - without an additional power supply

(PresseBox) (Detmold, )
With its new ACT20M Weidmüller offers users the choice of a one or two-channel passive isolator with a six millimetre design. Passive isolators guarantee electrical isolation in signal circuits - without an additional power supply. The passive isolator is either input loop powered (ILP) or output loop powered (OLP). This makes it possible to electrically isolate both channels in a module design width of just 6 mm. This represents the simplest, most space-saving and cost effective method of isolation to protect connected devices, and also improves the quality of the signals. High process reliability is assured on the one hand by the electrical isolation of 2.5 kV (300 V rated voltage) and on the other by the high measuring accuracy of up to 0.1 percent.

With its new ACT20M Weidmüller offers users the choice of a one or two-channel passive isolator with a 6.1 mm design. Passive isolators electrically isolate DC signals - but do not require an additional power supply. The passive isolator is powered either via the input (input loop powered, ILP) or the output (output loop powered, OLP). The ACT20M requires a design width of just 6.1 mm to electrically isolate two channels. To protect the connected devices and improve signal quality this is the simplest, most space-saving and cost effective form of isolation.

Excelling in every aspect the "ACT20M" product line with Ex approval for Zone 2 embodies Weidmüller's resolute response to increased customer requirements. In addition to the design width saving a significant amount of space in the electrical cabinet the module offers high electrical isolation of 2.5 kV with a rated voltage of 300 V. In addition, high process reliability is ensured by the high measuring accuracy of up to 0.1 percent and the wide temperature range of -25 °C to +75 °C. The limiting frequency of the ACT20M passive isolator is 100 Hz. It is allocated to surge voltage category II.

The ACT20M-CI-CO-ILP-S is input loop powered and the ACT20M-CI-CO-OLP-S is output loop powered. Both versions are designed to be robust and compact (114.3 mm x 6.1 mm x 112.5 mm l/w/h). International approvals (cULus, ATEX Zone 2, FM Div. 2, GL, DNV) and a permissible output load of up to 600 Ohm to control loads (switching amplifier) allow worldwide deployment in a wide variety of applications.

With its product line "ACT20M" Weidmüller is presenting an independent, newly developed series of analogue signal converters packaged in a design width of just 6 mm. The extremely compactly designed "ACT20M" line lowers costs, increases plant availability and reduces complexity for the end user. The new product line consists of 1- and 2-channel passive isolators, universal temperature transducers, DC isolation amplifiers and 2-way signal splitters.
