Voxtron engagiert sich intensiver für den Jugendsport: Neben der Nachwuchsförderung beim Fußballbundesligisten RW Ahlen sponsort das Softwarehaus aus Ahlen die Schülerläufe des Neunten Ahlener Stadtteil- und Haldenlaufs. Der Sportevent findet dieses Jahr am 15. Mai statt und umfasst Läufe für verschiedene Altersgruppen und Leistungsklassen rund um die Zeche Westfalen in Ahlen.

"In unserem Unternehmen gibt es zahlreiche Läufer", berichtet Ralf Mühlenhöver, Geschäftsführer von Voxtron. Da liege es natürlich nah, sich für den Sport zu engagieren. Das gilt insbesondere für den Jugendsport: "Jugendsport ist sehr wichtig, und mit unseren Beitrag geben wir Schülern und Jugendlichen die Möglichkeit, den Spaß am Wettbewerb zu genießen, ohne dass ihr Taschengeld leidet", erläutert der 43-jährige Langstreckenläufer. "Und mit dem Sponsoring bekennen wir uns klar zum Standort der Zeche Westfalen und zu unserer Stadt Ahlen!"

Der Stadtteil- und Haldenlauf findet rund um die Zeche Westfalen statt, einem umgewidmeten Industrieareal in Ahlen. Voxtron ist seit 1999 in Ahlen ansässig und seit der Eröffnung der umgebauten Zeche in 2006 größter Mieter in der Lohnhalle, einem historischen Baudenkmal der Industriekultur.
