With the take-over of the VIPA majority share by YASKAWA Europe GmbH five years ago VIPA`s portfolio was extended by YASKAWA drive technology. Since then the VIPA Controls sales team has also been the contact partner for sales and services of all products of YASKAWA drive technology. VIPA can therefore present itself on the market today as a complete supplier of control and drive technology. In this context a Total Solution Team is available as expert support for the user.
In order to make applications around YASKAWA drive technology, combined with the latest VIPA control technology, as easy as possible for the user VIPA Controls established a Total Solution Team. “Our Total Solution Team is made up of experts from different areas who support the user with know-how and advice. In this way, the use of YASKAWA and VIPA products is even easier”, said Harald Benkert, sales director of VIPA Controls. “It is important for VIPA and the Total Solution Team to be close to the customer and to capture and solve their tasks quickly and easily”, said Johann Mair, head of the Total Solution Team.
The concept of a complete supplier of control and drive technology is already bearing fruit. Thus, for example, projects in the field of drives-and-motion were already implemented successfully. YASKAWA servo drives together with VIPA CPUs set systems and machines in motion. Here the user can use different bus systems (EtherCAT, PROFIBUS and PROFINET) at the same time by combining the YASKAWA servo drives with the VIPA 015N CPU. It is simplified with a PLCopen-compliant library which is developed especially for this purpose and can be used in the familiar STEP7 programming environment.
In terms of energy saving the combination of VIPA and YASKAWA was also successful. Due to the modernization of his production facilities for example a customer used YASKAWA drive motors, YASKAWA frequency inverters and VIPA control technology. As a result the energy consumption reduced by more than 50%.
VIPA Controls therefore offers the customer complete solutions from a single source that not only consists of PLC solutions but also solutions in the field of drive technology which covers nearly all industrial demands. YASKAWA inverter solutions not only contribute to energy saving which leads to a faster pay-off in the field of system construction.
In the field of AC servo drives the main product range consists of Sigma-5 and Sigma-7 series including rotation and linear motors in many different versions and sizes. With the Sigma-7 series YASKAWA sets standards in terms of diversity, precision, and reliability in drive technology. The series offers standard-rotation-motors as well as linear and rotation-direct-drives and linear sliders and matching controllers. The YASKAWA Sigma-7 servo drive solutions basically consist of servo motors and servo amplifiers and include motor performances of 50 W up to 15 kW for rotation motors and linear motors with peak loads of up to 7,560 N.
The application-specific solutions in drive technology include, amongst other things, lift motors and drive packages for elevators. Numerous engineering tools for drives & motion complete the product range in drive technology.
