Bautext bietet ein neuartiges Softwarekonzept, das Ingenieuren und Technikern ermöglicht, ihre Berechnungen effizient und korrekt auszuführen.

Die Software beherrscht sämtliche mathematischen Funktionen des wissenschaftlichen Taschenrechners. Dazu gehören auch beliebige Klammerebenen und das Potenzieren. Neu ist, dass die Eingabe der Formeln direkt im Textprogramm erfolgt. Bautext interpretiert und berechnet diese intuitiv und vollautomatisch. Abhängige Werte werden sofort erkannt und entsprechend aktualisiert. Die Algorithmen können somit schnell und einfach ohne Programmierkenntnisse erstellt werden. Bei nachträglicher Änderung eines Vorgabewerts werden das Ergebnis sowie alle abhängigen Werte automatisch neu berechnet und aktualisiert. Kennwerte wie Material-, Bauteil- und Querschnittswerte werden aus hinterlegten und mit dem Dokument verknüpften Datenbanktabellen ermittelt.
