Specialized in ad-hoc troubleshooting and professional FAT/SAT, the PROFIBUS Scope 4.1. now becomes the perfect addition to the xEPI 2 solution. For the first time ever, seamless, integrated concepts from efficient commissioning via acute troubleshooting to permanent monitoring can be implemented one-stop from a single source.
As a software for measurements during operation, the PROFIBUS Scope is particularly popular with its users because of its clearly-arranged four-window design. For a quick overview and in addition to the TOP-10 list of critical network stations, users are now also able to sort all diagnosis messages by chronological order. With its high-performance analysis functions, the tool is also suitable for PROFIBUS experts doing troubleshooting at telegram level. In line with its traditional ease-of-use, the PROFIBUS Scope 4.1 now provides its context-sensitive help (access by simply clicking the F1 button) as a PDF file with print-out option as well. Additional example projects have also been integrated in the software.
The new xEPI 2 not only serves as an Ethernet-based access point for the PROFIBUS Scope, but now additionally features an integrated function for web-based PROFIBUS monitoring.
During operation, all PROFIBUS networks plant-wide can be permanently monitored by the xEPI 2, while diagnosis information is accessible via Web application at all times. Critical strands with malfunctions at the network or bus stations are automatically identified by the diagnostic units and users are immediately informed via email alert. In case of complex problems or error patterns, the PROFIBUS Scope with its high-performance analysis functions is the ideal tool to use directly at the respectively affected network. If necessary, experts can analyze error and repeat telegrams down to telegram level with extensive search, filter and trigger functions. In addition to these features, the PROFIBUS Scope can also be used to interpret manufacturer-specific GSD diagnoses in plaintext.
Comprehensive documentation of measurement results makes the PROFIBUS Scope an indispensible tool during professional commissioning already and provides the basis for network comparison upon regular repeat measurements.
Highlights of the xEPI 2 version 5.1 are integrated user management and support of the Pepperl+Fuchs SK 3 as an additional active infrastructure component besides the Siemens diagnostic repeater and DP/PA link, as well as respective evaluation of physical network parameters.
The new versions of the PROFIBUS Scope (4.1) and xEPI 2 (5.1) will be presented live at the Hannover Messe 2009 (Hall 11, booth A41). They are now available for download from the Trebing & Himstedt website www.t-.h.de. Update to the current versions is free for all customers using the PROFIBUS Scope 4.0, and the xEPI or xEPI 2. In the future, it will be possible to update xEPI 2 units version 5.1 and higher directly via the product's Web interface.
