Driving Innovation with the Future Charge Open Innovation Challenge

(PresseBox) (Berlin, )
The Future Charge Open Innovation Challenge, a partnership between The Drivery and Clarios, set out to transform low-voltage battery solutions and redefine the customer experience within battery service ecosystems. The challenge served as a platform to connect startups with industry leaders, offering participants the opportunity to refine their ideas through expert mentorship, hands-on workshops, and direct feedback from Clarios representatives.

“Collaboration is the lifeblood of innovation. By leveraging strong networks and bringing together diverse perspectives, we create an ecosystem where bold ideas can thrive and transform into real-world solutions,” said Vivian Duong, Senior Open Innovation Manager at The Drivery.

A JOURNEY OF INNOVATION

The Future Charge Open Innovation Challenge showcased the innovative talent of eight exceptional teams from around the globe, each bringing a unique perspective to the low-voltage battery ecosystem. These teams included Drivimobility, DewTouch Innovations, Devamapp Mobility, Langcode Inc., MDX by MetaDesign, Motorro, Open Bonnet, and ReviveBattery. Their diverse and creative solutions made the selection process highly competitive, demonstrating the strength and potential of open innovation to drive transformative change.

Over three weeks, the finalist teams collaborated closely with Clarios experts, using design thinking methodologies to refine their ideas and align their solutions with real-world use cases. Key events such as the Bootcamp Days provided hands-on opportunities to test prototypes and gather valuable feedback. The program concluded with a dynamic Pitch Day, where startups presented their innovative solutions to a jury of industry leaders.

CELEBRATING SUCCESS

With eight exceptional finalists presenting high-quality and relevant solutions, selecting the standout teams was no easy task. After careful deliberation, the jury selected three standout teams:
Drivimobility: 1st Prize, with a Proof of Concept opportunity with Clarios.
MDX and Langcode: Tied for 2nd Prize, showcasing exceptional creativity and problem-solving.

Their efforts exemplify the power of collaboration, where startups and corporates can come together to drive meaningful change.

TRANSFORMING IDEAS INTO IMPACTFUL SOLUTIONS

As the Future Charge Open Innovation Challenge concludes, the journey is far from over. The Proof of Concept (POC) process with Drivimobility marks the next exciting step, where innovative ideas will be translated into real-world applications within the Clarios ecosystem. This collaboration underscores the immense value of fostering connections between startups and industry leaders through open innovation.

“Innovation thrives at the intersection of bold ideas and structured support. At The Drivery, our innovation services are designed to bridge that gap, empowering startups and corporates to co-create impactful solutions that drive the future of mobility,” said Sebastian, Director of Innovation Service and Investments at The Drivery.
