Investment wisdom and strategy - Royalty companies

The Year of the Snake has now begun in China. It is wise and strategically clever, and investors should be too.

(PresseBox) (Herisau, )
Preserving wealth and providing for old age are more important today than ever before. Gold has proven to be a stable value. However, investors are asking themselves whether it is still worth investing in the current high gold price. Geopolitical disputes and crises and the central banks' hunger for gold speak in favor of gold. The growing shift away from the US dollar and dwindling confidence in fiat currencies are also making gold shine. A well-balanced portfolio should be broadly diversified. In addition to physical gold, it should also include the shares of companies that extract the valuable precious metal from the ground. And then there are the royalty companies. They ensure that the gold mining companies are sufficiently financed. In return, they receive streams and license fees. The mining risk is borne almost entirely by the mine operators. And if they increase production or make new discoveries, the royalty companies also earn money without having to do anything else. Even if rising prices, for example for energy, put a strain on the mine operators, the royalty companies remain unaffected. A major advantage is the large number of agreements that a royalty company has (diversification).

Gold has proven its ability to preserve value for thousands of years. Of course, gold also goes up and down from time to time, but it is also a medium to long-term investment. If the price of gold is very high, profit-taking can put pressure on prices. The central banks will continue to increase their gold reserves, the experts agree. And it is precisely here that many countries, including China and India, still have a lot of catching up to do.

Among the royalty companies, Osisko Gold Royalties - https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/osisko-gold-royalties-ltd/ - or Gold Royalty - https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/gold-royalty-corp/ - shines. In addition to diversification through large portfolios, both companies are active in the very good and mining-friendly jurisdictions of North and South America.
