E-mobility in Germany

(PresseBox) (Herisau, )
Although Germany still lags behind Scandinavian countries in terms of e-mobility, the numbers are rising.

More electric vehicles are being registered in Germany every year. As of January, there were already more than one million purely electric vehicles and around 865,000 plug-in hybrids in this country. In 2022, a good 470,000 purely electric vehicles were newly registered. According to estimates, the share of electric cars in Germany will be around 25 percent by 2030. This not only helps achieve climate targets, but also creates or secures jobs. In total, environmental bonus funding applications have been submitted for more than 1.2 million pure e-cars and around 804,000 for plug-in hybrids. In addition, there are 458 fuel cell cars. In terms of new registrations, June brought a new high for the year, July was weaker again, so sometimes more, sometimes less. More than 46,000 new applications for vehicles with alternative drive systems were added in July. Plug-in hybrids, by the way, are no longer subsidized since the beginning of 2023. Also, as of Sept. 1, 2023, the subsidy will only be available to private individuals.

Climate change is a done deal. After all, CO2 emissions have been rising steadily since 1960. Only the pandemic year 2020 was an exception. At least the overall increase in CO2 emissions has been more moderate over the last seven years. In Germany, it has fallen, while in China it has risen sharply. The increase in the earth's temperature is leading to more periods of drought and heat, and thus to more natural disasters. Electromobility is an important factor in counteracting this. This is achieved with lithium-ion batteries, which are becoming increasingly important not only in the mobility sector. As a result, battery metals such as cobalt, lithium and nickel are coming into the focus of investors, and so are the companies that own these materials. There is the Canada Nickel Company or Gama Explorations.

Canada Nickel Company - https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/canada-nickel-company-inc/ - owns the Crawford project in Ontario, it contains lithium and cobalt.

Gama Explorations - https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/gama-explorations-inc/ - takes care of lithium and other metals for renewable energy in Quebec, British Columbia and the Northwest Territories.
