Copper - the backbone of electrification

(PresseBox) (Herisau, )
According to Mordor Intelligence, the copper market will record an annual growth rate of more than six percent until 2029.

Demand for copper from the electronics, construction and telecommunications industries is therefore growing. The same applies to the electromobility sector. The Asia-Pacific region will see the greatest growth, as the electrical and electronics industry in India and the ASEAN countries is on the rise. The history of copper began more than 10,000 years ago in ancient Cyprus. Copper is named after this island and hardly any other metal has shaped the course of civilization then or now as much as the reddish metal. The metal is characterized by its corrosion resistance, conductivity, durability, flexibility and strength. Today, copper is an indispensable raw material for important technologies.

Today, a ton of copper costs around 9,300 US dollars. In 1980, the price was around 3,500 and in 2000 it was 1,800 US dollars per tonne. The metal was particularly expensive in 2021, when it cost more than USD 10,500 per tonne. Copper plays an important key role in many areas that say something about economic activity - hence the name "Dr. Copper". Today, electric vehicles and the drive towards renewable energies are fueling demand for copper and also the price.

After all, progress is linked to the earth's resources. And copper thus creates a fascinating link between nature and the development of mankind. Copper is used in high-voltage lines (energy transmission over long distances), power cables, electrical switchgear, offshore wind farms, semiconductors, circuit boards, in fact in almost all areas of electrification. As the future looks promising for copper, a look at mining companies with copper in their projects should not be missed.

In North and South America, GoldMining - https://www.commodity-tv.com/play/goldmining-new-resource-for-sao-jorge-and-more-exploration-to-come-in-2025/ - owns gold and copper in promising resource-stage projects. U.S. GoldMining - https://www.commodity-tv.com/play/us-goldmining-further-exploration-in-2025-after-excellent-results-and-resource-update-in-2024/ - has the promising Whistler project in Alaska. It contains gold and copper. Drilling results and exploration work have been very encouraging to date.

Current company information and press releases from GoldMining (- https://www.resource-capital.ch/de/unternehmen/goldmining-inc/ -) and U.S. GoldMining (- https://www.resource-capital.ch/de/unternehmen/us-goldmining-inc/ -).
