STOCKMEIER Chemicals GmbH & Co. KG and AdvanSix Inc. have signed a new distribution agreement. Effective immediately, Stockmeier is the authorized and preferred distributor for EZ-Blox® Anti-Skinning Agent in Europe and the United Kingdom.
EZ-Blox® Anti-Skinning agent is a highly effective additive for alkyd paints and varnishes based on 2-pentanone oxime (2-PO), offering a reliable, powerful and safer, drop-in alternative to MEKO (methyl ethyl ketoxime) that has been classified as carcinogenic (category 1B) under EU-REACH since March 2023.
The active ingredient of EZ-Blox(R) Anti-Skinning Agent 2-pentanonoxime (2-PO) and its use as an anti-skinning agent replacement for MEKO is the subject of a patent held by AdvanSix (EP 3 286 270 B), which is valid in nearly two 2dozen countries within the European Patent Convention, including the United Kingdom, most of the EU, Switzerland, Norway and Turkey, and shall remain in effect until April 2036. The patent underlines AdvanSix innovation leadership in this product. The patent-protected use of 2-PO in alkyd systems is exclusively guaranteed by EZ-Blox® Anti-Skinning Agent.
This distribution partnership with STOCKMEIER provides customers in the paint and coatings industry across Europe and the UK ready and reliable access to a safer anti-skinning agent with proven efficacy.
