Czech it out!

Client-orientated geothermal commitment going the extra mile

(PresseBox) (Siek, )
On 17th September, >stock big® Germany, the production division of Stock- B.I.G. GmbH in Siek/Hamburg co-organised a successful hands-on practical workshop together with material producer Fischer Spezialbaustoffe GmbH and producer of geothermal equipment MGS Europe. This lead to the request for a demonstration of the >stock big® GeoPump filling a bore hole with Fischer material in the Czech Republic!

The aim of this client event was to elevate the knowledge-level of the mixed audience of drilling company staff, building machine dealers, local authority staff and members of the press. The organisers demonstrated the actual filling process combined with a series of detailed and in-depth talks on the subjects of 'quality control at the drill site' and 'optimising the efficiency of the geothermal installation by using thermo-enhanced materials'. During the ensuing lively discussion, participants exchanged their knowledge and experience. Far away from the crowds found at big trade fairs, this small event reached out for new shores.

The >stock big® GeoPump was especially designed for the air-tight filling of geothermal and other bore holes. It is compact, powerful, versatile and easy to use. Following the expressed request of various clients, in 2010, manufacturer >stock big® Germany also made the hydraulically driven >stock big® GeoPump-HY commercially available.

At the event, all three types of >stock big® GeoPumps were presented: GeoPump-400 (for 3-phase 380V), GeoPump FlexV (for both, single-phase 230V or 3-phase 380V) and the GeoPump-HY that functions entirely without electricity from an electricity circuit by driving the mixing blade and rotor/stator pumping system through the powerful hydraulic engine of the hydraulic drill aggregate. The >stock big® GeoPump-400 and >stock big® GeoPump-HY were used for the demonstration.

The CEO of a leading geothermal business from the Czech Republic who had attended the workshop specifically with his interpreter, was so impressed by the ease of use of the >stock big® GeoPump in conjunction with the thermally enhanced material that he invited company representatives of >stock big® Germany and Fischer Spezialbaustoffe immeditely to visit the Czech Republic for a live demonstration of the filling process to investors, clients and staff. The invitation turned out to be a call for help to rescue a project that a local company had previously attempted to resolve without success. Both >stock big® Germany and Fischer Spezialbaustoffe GmbH responded with great spontaneity, flexibility and eagerness to assist and followed the call for help with a commitment for a date to assist within 2 weeks of the workshop.

The high-quality geothermal material Fischer GeoSolid 235 was dispatched directly to the site in Czech Republic. The >stock big® GeoPump-400 was hand-delivered on the day in one of the company's bright yellow-turquoise >stock big® service and maintenance vehicles by a technician and another member of staff. Waiting at the building site were members of staff of the project management team of the Czech geothermal solution provider, a Czech drilling company, the owner of the residential house as well as investors. The difficulties in finding the best approach for this particular project were clearly visible. The ground water level started at 5m depth with considerable build-up of water pressure. Regulating the consistency of the geothermal material from high density for the first 15m of the filling process and gradual thinning of the material to its ideal consistency towards the top of the drill hole was easily accomplished thanks to the ability of continuous adjustment of the pump's water flow as well as controlling the correct density of the mixture by using the purpose-built single pan density balance by the experienced >stock big® and Fischer teams. The filling of the 3 50m deep geothermal wells was completed within two hours to the full satisfaction of all involved.

Following a short city tour of Liberec's old town and a well-deserved meal with a continuing exchange of experience, the >stock big® and Fischer teams conducted a technical presentation of the advantages of using thermally enhanced geothermal material as well as another hands-on demonstration of the GeoPump-400 at the Czech geothermal company the following morning. The >stock big® GeoPump-400 was immediately purchased by the Czech drilling company and has since successfully completed further projects. This is an excellent example of how good customer care will make you go the extra mile.
