Software AG, a global leader in business infrastructure software, and Proginet Corporation, a leading provider of universal, multi-platform software solutions for fast, secure, global file transfers, today announced the availability of webMethods ActiveTransfer, a solution for managed file transfer available as part of the webMethods Suite. Building upon a new strategic OEM partnership with Proginet for its industry-leading, cross-platform file transfer solution, CyberFusion Integration Suite (CFI)®, webMethods ActiveTransfer provides organizations with a secure and reliable way to transfer large files, facilitates seamless trading partner integration, and provides a platform for compliance with regulatory mandates and security best practices.

webMethods ActiveTransfer is an integrated, efficient file transfer solution that provides a single point of control and management for all of an organization's file transfer activity, both inside and outside the extended enterprise. webMethods ActiveTransfer enables organizations to exchange information securely between all major computer platforms, as well as over the Internet.

"Companies struggle with how to move large files within the organization, and this challenge is compounded when trying to share information with external business partners outside the firewall," said Dr. Peter Kürpick, Chief Product Officer and Member of the Executive Board, Software AG. "Traditional file transfer methods, such as FTP, tend to be unreliable, non-secure, and lacking in the required automation functionalities, and e-mail is not a viable option for large files."

"webMethods ActiveTransfer provides businesses a solution that is optimized to guarantee secure delivery of files inside and outside an organization. Additionally, its zero-footprint deployment makes it an ideal solution for integrating with trading partners," Dr. Kürpick added.

webMethods ActiveTransfer supports a variety of communication protocols, and provides for the transmission of important business documents with trusted recipients across geographically dispersed networks. Additionally, its Checkpoint Restart functionality provides guaranteed delivery, while resuming the transfer of any file from the point of failure, rather than from the beginning of the transfer.

webMethods ActiveTransfer provides centralized management and control, including auditing, troubleshooting, and encryption, for both inbound and outbound transfers. These control features, combined with a secure infrastructure and optimized system performance, provide a platform for compliance with regulatory mandates and information security best practices relating to the transmission of large files.

As an SOA-enabled solution, webMethods ActiveTransfer is fully integrated with the webMethods Suite, enabling companies to replace antiquated and non-secure file transfer systems with a consolidated, easy-to-use platform. Integration with webMethods also extends large file support to the entire webMethods Suite and allows companies to easily extend file-based interactions to their SOA, including triggering actionable business events from file transfers. Organizations can deploy a single SOA platform for service-, message- and file-based interactions. webMethods ActiveTransfer is another example of Software AG's ongoing commitment to help companies deploy needed services quickly, reliably and securely.

"We are very pleased to be partnering with Software AG," stated Sandy Weil, Proginet's President and CEO. "They are a universally recognized leader in the business infrastructure software space. By bringing our leading-edge managed file transfer technology into their SOA-based webMethods Suite, they'll be able to deliver an integration solution that is uniquely powerful. We see tremendous synergies between our companies and we will continue to innovate, as we move forward, to better serve the marketplace."

webMethods ActiveTransfer will be available from Software AG on April 22, 2009.
