Saudi Arabia’s Tahweel Metal orders a six-high aluminum cold rolling mill from SMS group for its new integrated aluminum foil rolling complex in Dammam

 

• The aluminum cold rolling mill is designed to produce strips with a width of 2,200 millimeters and a final thickness down to 0.15 millimeters

Tahweel Metal Industry Company (TMIC) has signed a contract with SMS group for the engineering, manufacturing, and delivery of a six-high aluminum cold rolling mill for the production of high-quality aluminum strips. The plant will be the centerpiece of an integrated aluminum-foil complex to be built in Dammam Third Industrial City (Modon-III) on the Arabian Gulf. Parent company Tahweel Holding is a leading supplier of material solutions in the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA), and TMIC is continuing its expansion into the flexible packaging sector with aluminum foil rolling.

Consequently, it is particularly important for TMIC to rely on SMS’s competence and decades of expertise in ensuring maximum flexibility and reliability while continuing to offer sustainable, future-proof solutions. The state-of-the-art six-roll stand is designed to roll strips up to 2,200 millimeters wide and eight millimeters thick, with final thickness down to 0.15 millimeters, most of which will be processed into foils for the food/pharma packaging sector and other industrial applications.
