This is the so called accepted rest risk concerning fires in Germany. The victims who die after a few days or weeks after a fire are not recorded in this statistics. Experts guess that more than 6000 people die yearly because of the results of a fire. And this even though all building laws in Germany have only one aim: To protect human life in a case of fire. Even if Germany is not in a bad position in a worldwide ranking of fire victims per year, no demands to drop the fire protection requirements must be accepted only to ensure a cheaper way of constructing buildings. 2-3 died people a day are enough.
