Die Fujitsu LIFEBOOK-Plattform nutzt die Sierra Wireless Embedded Funkmodule AirPrime MC8305 und MC8355. Beide Module basieren auf dem Gobi3000 Referenzdesign von Qualcomm. Das MC8305 ist ein AirPrime Single-Mode-HSPA-Modul und das AirPrime MC8355 ist eine Dual-Mode-Version, die sowohl HSPA als auch CDMA-Netze unterstützt. Beide Module bieten Download-Geschwindigkeiten von bis zu 14,4 Mbps und Uploads von bis zu 5,76 Mbps. Sie sind ideal für die Integration in Notebooks und Tablets. Gerätehersteller können damit Hochgeschwindigkeits-Mobilfunknetze, Embedded GPS-Funktionen und das Gobi Application Programming Interface (API) nutzen.
Neben den Modulen bietet Sierra Wireless Fujitsu auch professionelle Dienstleistungen wie den Support für die Integration, Prüfung und Zertifizierung. Darüber hinaus ist die von Sierra Wireless entwickelte Watcher Software auf alle Fujitsu LIFEBOOK-Modelle mit integriertem AirPrime-Modul vorinstalliert. Sie bietet eine intuitive Benutzeroberfläche, um Mobilfunkverbindungen zu verwalten und Funktionen wie GPS-Verbindungen zu nutzen, die Standort-basierte Informationen bereitstellen.
