Shading with high transparency

Schüco AB ZDS sun shading in front of ASE/AS

(PresseBox) (Bielefeld, )
Large sliding systems are on trend, offering a high level of light penetration and high transparency for an amazing view. On summer days with intense heat influx, room temperatures can quickly rise above 40 °C. This requires effective sun shading to keep the room temperature pleasant. The challenge here is shading large dimensions effectively within the architectural design requirements. Thanks to its high performance, the Schüco ZIP Design Screen aluminium sun shading blind is a winner. It is positioned externally in front of the Schüco sliding system and reflects up to 70 percent of the sun's rays with its textile fabric. The ZIP technology is at the heart of the system which, with its zip fastening function, ensures good retention of shape and wind stability. For large-scale sliding systems, an additional, slimline design double-guide track enables multi-part sun shading units up to a total width of 18 metres. Schüco AB ZDS can be customised with a range of colours and a large selection of fabric types for various levels of transparency. It offers plenty of design and planning flexibility for a building.

High-quality design thanks to perfect integration

There when you need it – the Schüco AB ZDS sun shading in front of ASE/AS (Aluminium Sliding Element). And gone when you don't. This makes the perfect combination of sun shading and sliding system possible. The width of both profile systems is identical and, when combined, they look like a single unit. The coordinated choice of colours for both profile systems creates even more unity and the use of different colours can set individual accents.

The extremely smooth fabric appearance of AB ZDS is characteristically modern and serves to establish an identity. This is made possible by the ZIP technology, which acts like a zip fastener, firmly intertwining the fabric with the guide along the entire length. It also makes the sun shading extremely weather-resistant so that it can withstand wind speeds of up to 25 metres per second (wind force of 9 to 10 on the Beaufort scale).

Material and colour are paramount

Being able to see the outside world is important in making us feel more comfortable inside. This has a big influence on the health and productivity of building users. However, visibility and shading should not be contradictory. The Schüco AB ZDS sun shading system in front of ASE/AS is fitted with a textile fabric that, depending on the chosen material type and composition, offers good glare protection and screening (0 percent fabric opening) as well as high transparency (10 percent fabric opening). There are still clear views to the outside even when the sun shading is fully lowered. All the fabrics are extremely low maintenance, resistant to tearing and weathering, and are also flame retardant.

Alongside the material, the colour also has a key impact on glare and visibility. Light colours reflect heat and light better than dark colours. However, they offer a reduced view to the outside. Dark colours absorb the rays and offer a better view to the outside. For this reason, the Schüco AB ZDS sun shading is available in a variety of colours that suit the chosen aluminium components, every architectural concept and every home.

The Schüco AB ZDS sun shading in front of ASE/AS is operated with a 230 V drive and has integrated obstacle detection. It is integrated in the building automation and can be controlled via smartphone or tablet (even from afar). Schüco AB ZDS can be used with the Schüco ASE 60/80.HI, ASE 67 and AS PD 75.HI sliding systems.
