Schenck Process Group announces appointment of Dr. Ulrich Spiesshofer as Chairman

Schenck Process Group today announced the appointment of Dr. Ulrich Spiesshofer as Chairman of its Advisory Board effective May 1 2021.

Dr. Spiesshofer brings three decades of executive management, transformation, active portfolio management and operational expertise, across many sectors, including industry, energy and infrastructure in Europe, the Americas, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.

Most recently, he served as Chief Executive of the Group from 2013 to 2019 and was a member of the Executive Committee of ABB since 2005. Under his leadership, ABB was transformed into a leader focused on digital industries and one of the most respected technology companies at the intersection of industrial products, robotics and software. He currently serves on the board of directors of Infineon AG, Munich, serves as senior advisor to Blackstone and is assuming the chairman role at Sabre Industries, Texas.

Prior to ABB, Dr. Spiesshofer was Senior Partner and Global Head of Operations for Roland Berger AG and served A.T. Kearney LTD. in Europe, Australia, Asia and the US for 11 years most recently as Partner and Managing Director of their Swiss operations. Dr. Spiesshofer holds a PhD in Economics and a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Engineering from the University of Stuttgart, Germany.
