SCANLAB Positions Itself for Further Growth

Two new managing directors throw their support behind the laser scanning expert's digitalization and growth strategy

SCANLAB GmbH, a leading OEM-manufacturer for laser scanning solutions, is expanding its management team at the start of 2022. Long-standing head of Finance Dirk Thomas and head of Research & Development Christian Sonner have been newly appointed to the management board. With this experienced, effective team at the helm, the company is charting a course toward continued growth.

Consistency and stability are two of the key values of the laser technology expert SCANLAB, based in Puchheim near Munich. The CEO, Georg Hofner, has worked for the company since 1995. For around 20 years he has been managing the company’s development. In order to be better positioned to achieve its ambitious goals for its future and growth, SCANLAB is expanding its operative management team with effect from the start of 2022.

Dirk Thomas, head of Finance at SCANLAB GmbH, has been part of the company's workforce for more than 20 years. As a new managing director, he will be responsible for the Administration, Controlling, Human Resources and the IT departement. Currently, the digital transformation is a core element of SCANLAB's future strategy.

R&D director Christian Sonner has also been appointed to the board of managing directors. Christian Sonner has been part of the SCANLAB family for nine years; in his new role, he will continue to drive the digitalization of the company's product portfolio and the development of highly integrated scan systems. All three managing directors believe that a destinct focus on customers and partner-like relationships with industry and scientific institutes are the company's most important guiding principles.

The previous COO, Christian Huttenloher, has left the company to focus on new challenges. The new management team would like to explicitly thank him for his long-standing dedication and collaboration.
