Exabyte bringt erstes upgradefähiges Bandlaufwerk auf den Markt

Das neue Exabyte VXA-172 Tape Drive ist durch ein einfaches Firmware Upgrade von 172 GB (komprimiert) auf bis zu 320 GB Kapazität erweiterbar. Dabei bietet schon die Basisversion den hohen Datendurchsatz der VXA-320 Laufwerke von max. 24 MB/Sekunde. Die Datensicherung des VXA172 Streamers wird auf X6 und X10 Medien durchgeführt, deren Anschaffungskosten sehr gering sind.
Preislich ist der VXA172 Streamer trotz der höheren Kapazität und Performance günstiger als die VXA-2 Tapedrives und bietet dadurch eine preiswerte Einstiegslösung zur Datensicherung. Bei der PSIBER GmbH, Exabyte Distributor seit 1999, ist das VXA-172 Laufwerk ab jetzt ab Lager lieferbar.
