- First Plinovodi capacity auctions to take place on 17 November 2014
- Successful launch of the latest platform update allows traders to trade capacity with multiple currencies on the platform
The Slovenian Transmission System Operator Plinovodi and PRISMA have signed a service contract for the use of PRISMAs capacity platform. As a result, Plinovodi will start offering transport capacity to its shippers in accordance with the upcoming European market rules, the Network Code on Capacity Allocation Mechanisms (NC CAM) from 17 November 2014.
Marjan Eberlinc, General Manager at Plinovodi, said at the joint press conference in Brussels: "We are of a strong opinion that enabling the use of PRISMA services will provide a great positive effect on the Slovenian gas market."
Götz Lincke, Managing Director of PRISMA, welcomed the new partner and added: "our cooperation with Plinovodi demonstrates how well our platform is perceived among European TSOs. Winning the official tender held by Plinovodi for the development of a capacity platform shows that PRISMA is a cost-efficient, transparent and market-oriented tool for the European gas market. We are very pleased to welcome Plinovodi into our circle of partner TSOs and believe that the involvement of Plinovodi will contribute significantly to a liquid and transparent South-Eastern European Gas Market." The first unbundled capacity auctions are scheduled to take place on 17 November 2014, when transport capacity at the Slovenian network points Ceršak, Rogatec and Šempeter will be marketed via PRISMA for the contract period from 1 January 2015 until 30 September 2015.
Moreover, PRISMA has announced the launch of a new multi-currency tool on their platform. "The new functionality will further simplify European capacity trading and will bring significant benefits for energy traders buying capacity from those European TSOs that do not have the Euro as their national currency." Götz Lincke said. Mr. Lincke also said that in addition to the new multi-currency tool and based on feedback received from the market, PRISMA has also improved several functionalities aimed at improving the user-friendliness of the platform.
