Irrifance, a leading company specialized in irrigation, has developed a new generation of rotating pivot irrigation systems in partnership with Phaesun. The system is fully stand-alone thanks to a Phaesun solar PV generator. Two pilot sites were installed successfully in south of France more than one year ago. Commercial versions are now being deployed widely.
Rotating pivot irrigation systems are mainly applied for the cultivation of agricultural areas. The solar pivot, covering up to 40 hectares with a few kWp of PV array, extends the potential to dry areas and without connection to the grid. The first proposed range is dedicated to France and a larger one, covering south of Europe and Mediterranean countries, will be available soon.
