PFAFF INDUSTRIAL receives major order from India and goes into the black in its operational business

Kaiserslautern, (PresseBox) - End of December 2009, Bombay Rayon Fashions Ltd., one of the Largest Textile and Clothing Company in India, visited PFAFF INDUSTRIAL's new factory in the IG Nord area of Kaiserslautern. During the visit, PFAFF owner Joachim Richter and Vice-Chairman of Bombay Rayon Fashions Ltd Mr Aman Agrawal concluded a cooperation agreement. Even as this exclusive cooperative relationship first began, PFAFF received a sevenfigure order. This order includes standard and specialised high- speed sewing machines 'Made in Germany' for the production of shirts by the major Indian garment manufacturer, which employs over 30,000 people at various sites around India.

This development has set the Kaiserslauternbased machine manufacturer and its new owner and Chair Joachim Richter on the course for growth. In the 4th quarter 2009, the company is able to report great increases in the number of orders in the machine and replacement parts business areas. In recent weeks, for example, several automotive parts suppliers have opted for the newly developed PFAFF 3741 and PFAFF 3745 docusewing systems.

PFAFF Industrial's operational business is already ending this year in the black and the company hopes to generate a 2011 turnover of 30 million euros. PFAFF INDUSTRIAL currently employs around 200 people. Depending on the economic climate, the aim is to increase this workforce to 300 employees over the next couple of years. PFAFF INDUSTRIAL is the world's only provider of industrial sewing and welding solutions and is also a specialist in customized solutions for sealing textile materials.
