Four iF DESIGN Awards for Peter Schmidt Group projects

Peter Schmidt Group projects received four awards at the iF DESIGN AWARDS: Steiff wins twice; the posters for the 2023 Triathlon World Championships and the packaging design for Delta Cafés have also been awarded.

With Delta Cafés, the Peter Schmidt Group modernized Portugal's number one love brand - and at the same time preserved its character: “This redesign is shaping the future of the brand. Bold and unapologetic, the contemporary new look leveraged on brand's heritage reflects their coffee expertise. It takes Delta to the next level,” explains Executive Creative Director Pedro Vilar, who was responsible for the project with his team at the Lisbon location. The design not only impressed the iF AWARDS jury, but also the customers on the supermarket shelves: Delta has recorded remarkable growth of 16.8% in the ground coffee segment since its market launch.

The award-winning poster design for the Triathlon World Championships in Hamburg also attracted attention: Last summer, over 400 posters adorned Hamburg's city center and got sports enthusiasts from all over the world in the mood. Almost a classic in the current creative competitions is the work for Steiff: After winning gold at the German Design Award, two nails at the ADC competition and two Red Dot Design Awards, Steiff also won twice at the iF DESIGN AWARD - in the categories Corporate Design Relaunch and Logo Design. “Corporate, packaging and campaign - the awards show the breadth of our work,” says Managing Director Prof. Ruediger Goetz. “And yet there is a unifying element: Design that inspires people arises from a genuine understanding of the brand and target group. This requires not only technical skill, but especially empathy, the designer's honest willingness to engage with the customer's perspective and feelings.”

The iF DESIGN AWARD is one of the oldest and most recognized design prizes in the world. Since 1954, it has recognized outstanding achievements in various categories such as product, communication and packaging design, making it an internationally recognized benchmark for excellence.
