Innovation through design thinking: Schmitz Cargobull sets new standards in product development

Interdisciplinary teams with innovation methodology particularly successful

(PresseBox) (Münster, )
Schmitz Cargobull is driving agile transformation in product development with the support of noventum consulting. Design thinking enables cross-functional teams to develop innovative, customer-centred solutions faster and more sustainably.

With design thinking to innovation:

In a comprehensive transformation project, Schmitz Cargobull, a leading manufacturer of semi-trailers and transport solutions, is providing new impetus in product development. With methodological support from noventum consulting, design thinking was established as an agile innovation approach in the organisation. The aim: to solve complex challenges in product development faster, more user-centred and more creatively.

Innovation through cross-functional collaboration

Traditional product development at Schmitz Cargobull was increasingly reaching its limits - fragmented processes, different objectives and a lack of innovation dynamics led to frictional losses. With Design Thinking, an approach was chosen that guides interdisciplinary teams through creative problem-solving processes in a structured manner and focuses on the user's perspective.

noventum consulting accompanied this change methodically, conceptually and organisationally - from the analysis of the initial situation to the conception of a company-wide Design Thinking framework and the implementation of multi-day workshop formats.

Workshops with impact: from method to mindset

In specially designed Design Thinking training sessions, cross-functional teams experienced the impact of the new approach live: playful, structured and solution-orientated. The combination of creative openness and clear process steps enabled the first tangible solutions to be developed quickly.

The focus was not only on methodological skills, but also on cultural change: the participants experienced how important empathy, teamwork and openness to new ways of thinking are in the innovation process.

Sustainable change for a future-proof organisation

The project goes far beyond individual measures: Schmitz Cargobull has used design thinking to create a strategic lever to permanently strengthen innovative strength, employee participation and customer proximity.

With the support of noventum consulting, a sustainable basis was created on which future innovation projects can also be implemented more efficiently, creatively and effectively.
