Impulses for a (K)Intelligent and agile future

A somewhat different meeting of the NRW chancellors

(PresseBox) (Münster, )
The chancellors of 20 (technical) universities from North Rhine-Westphalia meet annually as part of a closed conference to take up innovative ideas and discuss how these can be incorporated into their everyday lives. On 24 October 2024, Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences hosted this meeting in the person of Chancellor Sandra Schlösser. The focus was on the potential of artificial intelligence and modern and agile forms of collaboration. The topics were to be communicated and framed in an interactive and entertaining way - exactly our thing!

noventum Managing Director Uwe Rotermund was chosen to organise and moderate the event. The detailed, highly competent and sometimes breathtaking impulses on the topic of artificial intelligence came online from business information scientist Prof Dr Doris Weßels from Kiel University of Applied Sciences. This was followed by an intensive discussion about the opportunities and risks of this obvious disruption.

Uwe Rotermund was able to pick up the ball in the subsequent four-part workshop.

Part 1 looked at ways to achieve complexity-resilient organisational development. Uwe Rotermund presented the tried-and-tested concepts described in his book "Escaping the Complexity Trap" and carried out a small maturity check with the participants directly on site.

Afterwards, Eigenland® was played in part 2. The chancellors used coloured glass beads to illuminate three of the 10 perspectives of the noventum OKE House (House of Organisational and Cultural Development). The three most highly prioritised perspectives were "Leadership & Role Model", "Collaboration & Agility" and "Analysis and Feedback". For each of the three focus perspectives, one aspect with concrete potential for improvement was playfully emphasised.

Part 3 continued with a World Café to discover organisational possibilities for dealing better with complexity. The potential for improvement identified in part 2 was concretised "in the round" outdoors and always garnished with a rewarding "WHY" as a motivational aid. The resulting ideas were useful takeaways for the participants for their organisational work at home.

Part 4 of the event was rounded off with recommendations on how the creative ideas for organisational and cultural development can be introduced into the organisation in a participatory and effective way using agile methods.

In the final feedback round, the participants stated that the content was relevant to them and that the highly interactive format was a lot of fun. There was great confidence that some of the jointly developed ideas could be put into practice. Host Sandra Schlösser was also very satisfied with how the day went. She particularly appreciated the initiated change of perspective, the lively communication of useful methods and the activation of her guests.

An inspiring day for the chancellors finally came to an end under the motto "THINK PINK" at the Lippstadt Autumn Week, where the chancellors were able to round off a professionally dense day with lots of fun and togetherness.
