„Das Thema Mobile Business ist in der Unternehmensrealität angekommen und rechnet sich nachhaltig“. Arvin Arora, Geschäftsführer der NEO Business Partners aus Hannover, bringt damit die Ergebnisse der 2. Mobile Business Konferenz für SAP-Anwender auf den Punkt. Über 150 Teilnehmer beschäftigten sich zwei Tage lang mit der Integration von Außendienstprozessen (mobile Lösungen) in die Geschäftsprozesse von Unternehmen. In ihrer Keynote stellte Katharina Rock, Vice President Development Mobile Applications der SAP AG, die Entwicklungsstrategie der SAP dar und kündigte unter anderem eine neue Middleware-Plattform an, die 2007 auf den Markt komme. Unter dem Leitgedanken „Mobile Potenziale nutzen“ behandelte die Konferenz das Thema ganzheitlich im SAP Kontext: fachlich, technologisch, betriebswirtschaftlich – und vor allem praxisorientiert. Die Tagung, die von NEO Business Partners in Kooperation mit SAP, intel, Vodafone, T-Systems, Fujitsu-Siemens, PSION-Teklogix, carema ptv und teXXmo organisiert wurde, fand vom 7.-8. September 2006 in Frankfurt statt.
Eine aktuelle Studie der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Managementforschung weist für Unternehmen neben der Verringerung der Prozesskosten vor allem signifikante Qualitätsvorteile nach. Und viele Praxis-Berichte, u.a. von den Schwartauer Werken, der Sto AG, Sharp Electronics, den Stadtwerken Bielefeld, E.ON Hanse oder AVL List bestätigen dies: So unterstützt beispielsweise die E.ON Westfalen Weser AG ihre Service-Techniker mit mobilen Systemen und einer prozessorientierten Benutzeroberfläche, die exakt ihrem Arbeitsablauf entspricht. 25.000 Zählerwechsel können so pro Jahr schneller durchgeführt werden. Unnötige Transformationsschritte und Medienbrüche entfallen. Und durch die Vermeidung von Doppelerfassungen steigt auch die Datenqualität signifikant.
Lessons learned aus den Praxiserfahrungen – das empfanden die Konferenz-Teilnehmer als das größte Asset. „Vor allem die kompetenten Referenten-Beiträge der Firma NEO brachten wertvolle Impulse und konkrete Handlungsempfehlungen“, so Ronald Kindt, verantwortlich für den technisch / kaufmännischen Außendienst bei der RheinEnergie AG.
