The new production facility for APYRAL® 40 CD was put into operation within the framework of the Nashtec joint venture in Corpus Christi, Texas (USA) at the end of November 2006. The quality of the products manufactured corresponds to that at the company's main site in Schwandorf, with sampling to obtain customer approvals proceeding positively as expected. Initial customer audits at Nashtec have confirmed the high standards, which allowed regular supply of key accounts to be initiated in January 2007. With Nashtec - an investment of USD 32 mio. - Nabaltec offers its customers as sole producer of ATH worldwide production sites in both consumption centers.
After an additional capacity expansion for fine precipitated hydroxide at the Schwandorf plant, Nabaltec managed to increase the production volume by approx. 50% to a current total of more than 80,000 t. The new production facility for ceramic bodies and reactive aluminas, which was placed into operation as planned in the first quarter of 2007, will steadily increase the capacities in these high-quality product areas in order to meet rising customer demand.
Growth can be expected again in 2007. The general meeting of Nabaltec AG shareholders is planned for mid-May 2007.
