Nabaltec AG, a leading supplier of mineral-based flame retardants and raw materials for technical ceramics, will conduct an extensive safety inspection of all precipitators in its production plant in Corpus Christi, Texas, USA. This measure became necessary when a design error led to a technical defect in one of the tanks. The resulting damages are covered by the warranty of the tank manufacturer and insurance.
The safety inspection will temporarily cause a considerable reduction in US production, which will delay deliveries. Nabaltec expects the plant to be up and running again within six to eight weeks, reaching full capacity in no more than twelve weeks. "The limited production at the moment and the delays in deliveries will be reflected in the 3rd Quarter figures, since we know from experience that warranty and insurance settlements take more time. Nevertheless, we adhere to our sales forecast of EUR 95 million for 2007 as a whole, due to our additional capacity for APYRAL® CD qualities in Schwandorf from the end of August,“ said Gerhard Witzany, Member of the Board of Nabaltec AG. "Our particular focus is now on our new customers in the US: having just won their trust, we do not want that trust to be dissipated by this technical incident. We are therefore doing everything in our power to keep the impact on our customers as small as possible.“
