Optimally suited for audio and navigation applications

32-bit microcontrollers with 1.5 Mbytes flash memory, 48 MHz clock frequency and integrated noise suppression

(PresseBox) (Stutensee (Germany), )
Gleichmann Electronics presents in Hall 9, Stand 235 at embedded world 2009 the first nine MCUs of the new V850E/Sx3?HV family from NEC Electronics. These 32-bit microcontrollers with 1.5 Mbytes of integrated flash memory are ideally suited for audio and navigation applications.

Based on the well-established V850E1 core, the six devices of the V850E/SJ3-H series and the three derivatives of V850E/SK3-H series feature an increased clock speed from 32 MHz to 48 MHz, compared to the V850ES/SG3M and V850ES/SJ3n S Series MCUs. This now allows a processing power of up to 85 Dhrystone MIPS.

A further feature of the devices, which are optimized for use in high-performance automotive radios, CD and DVD systems, USB/SD card readers and digital terrestrial broadcast equipment, is the integrated spread spectrum clock generators. The significantly improved EMV behavior allows a reduction in development time and therewith also lower system development costs.

Pin layout and software of the new devices, which are equipped with eight UART channels, eight CSI channels and six I2C channels, are backward compatible with those of the V850ES/SG3 and V850ES/SJ3 models.

The six V850E/SJ3-H MCUs are available in 144-pin QFP packages. The three V850E/SK3-H MCUs are available in 176-pin QFP packages. Samples of the new 32-bit microcontrollers are available now. Mass production is scheduled to begin in November 2009.

MSC Technologies GmbH

Founded in 1979, Gleichmann & Co. Electronics GmbH, in the same company group with MSC Vertriebs GmbH, has established itself as one of the leading pan-European distributors of electronic assemblies and components. One of the reasons for the high acceptance by customers and suppliers is the company's early focus on comparatively few, highly sophisticated products such as microcontrollers, programmable logic devices, displays and customer specific power supplies. From this, the resulting in-depth technical know-how of our sales engineers and field application engineers today enables us, if required by the customer, even implementation of complete new designs right up to the finished product. With two of its own ASIC design centers, the Gleichmann research laboratory in Austria and one of the largest and most modern programming centers in Europe, Gleichmann Electronics takes a leading role in terms of service and customer support.
