miniCASTER® goes ARRI Alexa

ARRI Alexa Cameras now with live view and remote control over iPads

(PresseBox) (Unterföhring, )
With NABShow 2012 just around the corner, we are very happy to anounce a new, extremely hot scenario where miniCASTER® helps you to optimize your workflow. The ALEXA series of digital film cameras made by ARRI, Germany, can now be controlled over an iPad. The miniCASTER® ARRI Alexa Kit, which covers also live view, will be shown for the first time jointly at NABShow 2012 in Las Vegas on ARRI's booth has the number #C6737.

On most film sets, every crew member likes to get a live picture from the cameras view. While cabling and setting up monitors is time-intensive, the miniCASTER® solution works wirelessly and uses iPads as screens. miniCASTER®, a pocket-sized Live Encoder, mounted directly on the camera, streams the camera video signal over a local Wi-Fi network, where iPhones and iPads can grab the live stream inside the miniCASTER® ARRI Alexa App.

In addition, the miniCASTER ARRI Alexa App allow the users to remotely control the camera. All metadata from the camera and a proxy file of every single shot will be stored in a "easySCOTT" called database, provided by the German company Softkeks. The data can be edited immediately over the iPad and sent to the post production house.

"This will expedite the post production process and save money every single production day", says Michael Westphal, CEO of miniCASTER®.

We are very excited about this new joined project and await you at NABShow with the complete line-up of miniCASTER® devices giving live demos, so come and see us at our booth at NABShow 2012.
