Practice meets performance: LEONHARD KURZ presents tried-and-tested TTR solutions for food, pharmaceuticals, and spirits at Labelexpo Europe 2025

(PresseBox) (Fürth, )
Flexible, economical, and impressive results: At Labelexpo Europe 2025, LEONHARD KURZ will present innovative Thermal Transfer Ribbon (TTR) solutions that do much more than just label. In Barcelona, the focus will be on practical applications, with real-life examples from three key industries: food, pharmaceuticals, and spirits. The thin-film specialist will demonstrate how the holistic approach of the Thermal Transfer (R)evolution proves its worth in practice in terms of communication, branding, and protection.

“Whether for label printing for small batches of wine, forgery-proof marking of pharmaceutical products, or labels for sustainable paper packaging: At Labelexpo Europe, we will once again demonstrate that our products are both technically impressive and create real added value in our customers' everyday lives,” explains Ivo Kionka, Managing Director of KURZ Typofol GmbH.

Sustainable packaging with the NexPlus® Seal Bundle from Koehler Paper

The food industry is under increasing pressure to develop packaging solutions that are both functional and environmentally friendly. One example of such a solution is the NexPlus® Seal Bundle from Koehler Paper - a recyclable packaging material that contains no plastic. KURZ presents matching Thermal Transfer Ribbons such as the K 7 EVO, which have been specially developed for printing on these substrates. Visitors to the trade fair stand will have the opportunity to examine pre-printed samples and see the print quality and material compatibility for themselves. With its focus on communication, the system contributes to seamless traceability in the food sector by enabling reliable TTR labeling even on demanding substrates.

Wine labels with character - even in small batches

Wine is not just a product, but rather an experience celebrated by connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike. This makes it all the more important to create a harmonious overall image, starting with the label and the first impression. Small and medium-sized wineries in particular need label solutions that stand out, convey emotions, and yet remain economical. At Labelexpo Europe, KURZ will present a label project featuring TTR NOVA. The high-quality design enhancement shows how durability, quality, and efficiency can be combined even for smaller print runs. TTR NOVA impresses with its flexible application and stable performance, while the labels designed with it attract attention thanks to dazzling holographic effects and impressive visual depth.

In addition, KURZ offers further TTR solutions in the branding sector that can be customized in terms of color, for example for use with CI-compliant colors. This allows brands to strengthen their visual identity in a targeted manner, even with small batches.

Safety labeling in pharmaceutical logistics

In the pharmaceutical industry, counterfeit-proof labeling and reliable traceability are essential, especially in the global trade of sensitive medicines. Using a case study with PROFILABEL, KURZ demonstrates how these requirements can be efficiently implemented with TTR Unique UV. This allows invisible security features to be integrated directly into existing thermal transfer printing processes without additional effort. This makes TTR Unique UV an efficient, practical solution that provides greater product protection without any technical barriers to entry - even in series production. The security features are visible under UV light and can be used as part of a multi-level protection concept.

Even under difficult climatic conditions, the solution ensures tamper-proof and permanently legible labeling. At the same time, it meets all common requirements for industrial processing and logistics. With a focus on protection, KURZ shows how reliable counterfeit protection can be easily and economically integrated into existing processes - optionally with additional solutions such as TTR Unique VEROSPEC®, which enable machine-readable authenticity verification.

Open exchange and consultation on site
