Der Weihnachtsbaum vor dem Brandenburger Tor versetzt den Pariser Platz seit dem 1. Advent mit 15.000 LED-Lichtern und 600 champagnerfarbenen Kugeln in weihnachtlichen Glanz. 2 Tonnen schwer, 15 Meter hoch und 30 Jahre alt ist die Nordmanntanne, die in diesem Jahr aus dem thüringischen Lederhose kommt. Seit 2015 ist der Berliner Energieanbieter lekker Sponsor des wohl am meisten fotografierten Weihnachtsbaums der Republik. Ausgesucht wird der Baum seitdem von ThüringenForst.
