Das Datenaufkommen steigt, sodass die Netzbetreiber auf optische Signale flexibler, effektiver und kosteneffizienter zugreifen müssen, um diese zu verteilen und die Übertragungsqualität zu kontrollieren. Glimmerglass ist führender Anbieter optischer Matrixschalter und Managementsoftware für Anwendungen in der optischen Nachrichtentechnik. Die Produkte können im deutschsprachigen Raum über die LASER COMPONENTS GbmH bezogen werden.

Die effektive Nutzung der Netzinfrastruktur und die Steigerung der Zuverlässigkeit erfolgt durch Umschalten der optischen Pfade mittels Matrixschalter - das Netz kann so flexibel rekonfiguriert werden, um auf geänderte Anforderungen schnell zu reagieren.
