FITEL S251A: Precise, High-Speed Fiber Optic Cable Stripping

With the FITEL S251A, Furukawa Electric introduces a compact thermal fiber stripper that reliably and gently strips fiber ribbons and rollable ribbons, as well as single fibers with diameters from 200 to 400 µm. In Germany, the device is distributed by LASER COMPONENTS.

The S251A stands out for its high speed, reliability, and throughput. It reaches operating temperature just five seconds after power-on. The coating is removed using low tensile force, ensuring the fiber remains undamaged. Its flat heating element offers two key advantages: heat is distributed evenly across the fiber for precise, gentle stripping, while the flat surface reduces the buildup of coating residue, allowing for quick and easy cleaning.

Thanks to its compact design, the FITEL S251A is ideal for mobile applications. The integrated battery provides up to ten hours of operation or approximately 600 stripping cycles and can be conveniently recharged via the USB-C port. LED indicators, audible alerts, and vibration feedback ensure ease of use even in noisy or poorly lit environments. A robust, water-repellent housing reliably protects the device from environmental influences.
