OTDR mit integrierter Dauerstrichquelle für xWDM-Netze

Mit den DWDM-OTDRs der 4100-Serie von Viavi können Fehlererkennung und Wartung von DWDM-Netzen jetzt auch im laufenden Betrieb durchgeführt werden. Für die Messungen mit dem integrierten durchstimmbaren Laser können im C-Band alle Kanäle zwischen C62 (1527,99 nm) und C12 (1567,95 nm) verwendet werden. Dabei sind Kanalabstände von 50, 100 oder 200 GHz möglich. Die integrierte Dauerstrich-Lichtquelle sorgt dafür, dass die Ende-zu-Ende-Kontinuität durch alle Multiplexer sichergestellt werden kann. Der Betrieb aller anderen Kanäle wird nicht gestört.
 
Mit einer einzigen Messung liefert das OTDR alle Werte, die benötigt werden, um eine Störung schnell zu beheben. Die Ergebnisse werden außerdem mit allen internationalen Standards abgeglichen, sodass der Bediener anhand einer Pass/Fail-Tabelle schnell erkennen kann, ob alle Vorgaben erfüllt werden. Die Testgeräte sind bei LASER COMPONENTS erhältlich. Mit optischen Wellenlängenmultiplexverfahren (engl. Wavelength Division Multiplex – WDM) können über eine einzelne Glasfaser 18 (CWDM) bis 96 (DWDM) Kanäle übertragen werden. Dadurch lassen sich die Übertragungsraten im Netz erheblich steigern. Aus diesem Grund werden xWDM-Technologien in den Zugangsnetzen von Breitbanddiensten immer beliebter.
