EMAG Holding GmbH, a worldwide leading supplier of machines and manufacturing systems for the machining of chucked, shaft-type or cubic components, will continue to rely on VIPNet, a virtual private network (VPN) provided by LambdaNet Communications Deutschland AG in the future as well. EMAG has been using a VIPNet provided by LambdaNet since 2007. Now the contract was extended until 2013. The VIPNet based on MPLS technology networks 24 EMAG locations in seven countries.
In addition to a backup solution, the VPN features central Internet connections as well as a firewall managed by LambdaNet in order to prevent unauthorized network access. Furthermore, LambdaNet's specialists actively monitor the VIPNet. The VPN is specifically tailored to the requirements of EMAG and is very flexible with respect to location modifications and network extensions.

LambdaNet's VIPNet offers connections with data rates from 2 Mbit/s up to 10 gigabits. Thus, branch locations as well as large data centers can be efficiently connected. Variable billing models, permanent network monitoring, complete project management responsibility, optional traffic classes as well as the realization via LambdaNet's high-performance optical fiber network ensure a powerful package for individual communication processes for the customer.
