Krones Recycling presents innovations at IFAT and PRS Europe

Developed from real‑world requirements

(PresseBox) (Neutraubling, Germany, )
When IFAT in Munich and PRS Europe in Amsterdam open their exhibition halls in May 2026, Krones Recycling will demonstrate how the washing process in plastics recycling can be measurably improved. In addition to the well‑known solutions – such as the MetaPure Compact and MetaPure Performance washing lines – two new developments will take centre stage. Both innovations address crucial stages of the washing process where friction points frequently occur in real‑world operation.

HydroCut: Powerful pre‑processing for a stable washing process

A highlight at both events will be the premiere of HydroCut, Krones’ first proprietary wet granulator. By shredding material under the addition of water, HydroCut binds and removes abrasion and contaminants at an early stage. As an innovative solution, HydroCut combines significantly simplified maintenance with noticeably reduced fines formation compared with conventional market solutions.

New friction washer: Higher performance, easier maintenance

In many recycling plants, stubborn contamination, adhesive residues or organic deposits repeatedly slow down operations. “The new friction washer tackles these issues with intensive friction action and a precisely metered water application,” explains product specialist and project manager Christian Vith. This creates a stable basis for subsequent washing and sorting stages. Easier maintenance and intelligent detection of process disturbances are among the key advantages of the new unit.

Both new machines were developed based on extensive customer and service feedback. Recurring challenges related to process stability directly informed development. “The result is solutions that address the very points where the performance of a recycling line is fundamentally shaped: ensuring a stable, clean, and easily controllable washing process,” says Managing Director Dr Michael Gotsche.

Anyone wishing to learn more about how the two new machines operate – and the potential they unlock for washing performance – will have the opportunity to do so in May at IFAT in Munich (Hall B5, Booth 111) and at PRS Europe in Amsterdam (Booth E50).
