KBA-MetroPrint's Genius 52UV takes Japan by storm

Debut after 15 years

(PresseBox) (Veitshöchheim, )
IGAS, the largest trade fair for Japan's printing and graphics industry, took place from 16 - 21 September 2011 in Tokyo and had a steady flow of visitors throughout. In a number of live demonstrations, the unique waterless and keyless Genius 52UV B3 printing press celebrated its Japanese debut at the joint stand of Illies und Toray and was an instant hit.

"The Genius 52UV printing demonstrations proved a real crowd puller and we experienced high levels of interest for the whole duration of the trade fair. We had already celebrated a printing press premiere at the beginning of this year, so it was only a matter of time before we conquered the Japanese market.", commented Sven Müller, representative of C. Illies & Co, who was delighted at the success of the trade fair. After many successful installations all over the world, the Genius 52UV has now finally made its way to Japan.

And that is thanks to the printing works Anri Machinery Co. Ltd. from Osaka, a company always looking to invest in sustainable and eco-friendly products. In Japan, Anri is a trailblazer for the use of ecologically sound technology. And with its first waterless Genius 52UV it has set the benchmark for sustainable printing processes on the island of Japan. The company takes pride in offering its customers the highest quality and championing initiatives that protect the environment while setting new quality standards in the printing process and promoting greater environmental responsibility and sustainability in its services to its customers.

In this respect, the Genius 52UV ticks all the right boxes and its "Green Printing" slogan is not just a soundbite: this innovative printing press is free of volatile organic compounds, has no dampening unit, no need of fount solution preparations or additives and has completely eliminated ink mist and the use of pollutants, such as biocides, powders and isopropanol. Unlike the majority of small format presses, the Genius 52UV has only a few sheets of run-up waste before producing its first "good sheet" and once again ably demonstrated its environmentally friendly printing process at this year's IGAS.

As well as its excellent ecological credentials, a key feature of the Genius 52 UV is its efficient printing of expensive and high-margin products, such as 3D labels and design foils for smart phones. In today's increasingly environmentally aware society, this type of product gives users an enormous competitive edge, as well as the opportunity to attract new customers.
