IWK Showcases Sustainable Packaging Innovations at PROPAK Asia 2025

IWK Verpackungstechnik GmbH, a global leader in high-performance tube filling and cartoning systems for the pharmaceutical, medical device, and cosmetics industries, will present two of its most advanced packaging solutions at PROPAK Asia 2025 in Bangkok from June 11–14 at Booth D30.

Following its successful debut in 2024, the IWK CABLIblue 870 blister system returns to PROPAK as a key exhibit, now firmly established as a sustainable alternative to conventional blister packaging. Alongside it, IWK will unveil its Compact Tube Filling Line, a space-saving, cost-effective solution combining the FP 10 tube filler and the VI 5 vertical cartoner for seamless, efficient production.

CABLIblue 870: Full Cardboard Blisters for a Greener Future

The CABLIblue 870 system continues to set new standards in sustainable packaging. Designed for the production of full cardboard blisters, it eliminates single-use plastics and supports a circular economy. The system’s modular design enables high-volume output with robust product protection, making it ideal for pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, medical devices, DIY products, and non-food items.

Key features include 100% recyclable fiber-based packaging, energy-efficient stepper motors, and Venturi vacuum technology. Its flexible format options and user-friendly operation ensure smooth integration into existing production environments. IWK’s expertise in cardboard handling guarantees a reliable transition from plastic to paper-based blister formats, aligning with global sustainability goals and regulatory trends.

Compact Tube Filling Line: FP 10 + VI 5 for Maximum Efficiency

Making its PROPAK debut, IWK’s Compact Line integrates the FP 10 tube filler with the VI 5 vertical cartoner, offering a compact, modular solution tailored for manufacturers seeking high productivity in a minimal footprint.

The FP 10 tube filler stands out with its fully servo-driven architecture, which ensures optimal filling results across a wide range of product types. It supports all common tube closures on a single machine and achieves up to 25% lower energy consumption compared to similar systems. Changeovers are fast and intuitive, taking less than ten minutes and requiring no complex adjustments, which significantly enhances production flexibility.

The VI 5 vertical cartoner complements this performance with a design that eliminates the need for manual guide adjustments when switching carton formats. It can erect cartons regardless of their opening direction and features a universal closure system that handles both tuck-in and glue-sealed cartons with ease. This versatility, combined with its modular expandability and precise servo-driven transport, makes the VI 5 an ideal solution for a wide range of packaging applications.

Together, the FP 10 and VI 5 form a highly efficient, user-friendly system that reduces labor requirements while maintaining high output and consistent quality—perfectly suited for small to mid-sized production environments.

Commitment to Sustainability

IWK continues to lead the way in sustainable packaging technologies. From recyclable materials to energy-efficient machinery, the company’s innovations support the global shift toward environmentally responsible manufacturing. Whether through full cardboard blisters or compact, efficient production lines, IWK empowers its customers to meet both regulatory demands and consumer expectations for greener packaging.
