Ingram Micro EMEA Further Strengthens Value Business with Acquisition of interAct in Belgium

(PresseBox) (Brussels, Belgium, )
Ingram Micro EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), a division of Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), the largest global wholesale provider of technology products and supply chain management services, today announced it has acquired interAct BVBA, a valueadded distribution company headquartered in Aartselaar, Belgium and serving a network of over 500 customers in Belgium and Luxembourg.

interAct delivers specialized solutions, including hardware, software and services that help resellers transform their customers' IT infrastructure or data centers from a standalone collection of physical assets into a virtual and adaptive (cloud) infrastructure designed to rapidly meet changing business needs. interAct is the main distributor in the Belux territory for Citrix. The company also offers solutions based on RES Software, DataCore, Endeavors Technologies, i365, IGEL, Immidio, Lanamark, Marathon, Platform Computing, AppSense, ScriptLogic, ThinPrint, VASCO and visionapp. Through this purchase Ingram Micro Belgium welcomes a team of experienced specialists who offer pre- and postsales support, technical consultancy, marketing support and training.

Ingram Micro EMEA President, Alain Maquet, said, "Ingram Micro is focused on gaining scale and growing expertise in the value market. interAct is a very specialized team of 15 focused persons which will add significantly to our overall strategy in this space. This latest acquisition is the third we've made in Europe in less than a year in this area and is yet another indication of our commitment to expand rapidly with value and create competitive advantage."

interAct's CEO Rudi Lenaerts is appointed Director, Value Division, reporting to Ingram Micro Belgium's Managing Director Steve Meynen. He will lead Ingram Micro's value business for the Belux region, now including interAct and Ingram Micro's existing team of value specialists.

"We are very pleased to welcome Rudi along with the other associates from interAct," said Meynen. "They are a strong team who have created a successful business model by offering creative marketing support, leadgeneration, indepth technical knowhow, and easy accessibility. Together we will ensure the transition is seamless for our partners and that they realize increased benefits of working with Ingram Micro."

interAct's longstanding vendor Citrix welcomed the news of the acquisition. Rob van der Hoeven, Area Vice President, Citrix Systems said, "With interAct Ingram Micro is gaining a leading company with a proven track record in valuable Citrix expertise and substantial knowledge about our portfolio. When combined with Ingram Micro's worldclass logistics capabilities and financial strength, we believe they are creating a powerful and winning combination."

The value business is a strategic part of Ingram Micro's operations and this transaction represents another step forward in the company's overall pursuit of value business. In recent months Ingram Micro EMEA has announced it has strengthened its capabilities in the value space right across Europe, including through the acquisition of CCD, the leading distributor of midtier enterprise products with a respected 22years of experience in the UK market built on a strong HP franchise, and through the acquisition of Albora Soluciones with offices in Spain and Portugal. Furthermore, in the first half of 2010 Ingram Micro EMEA expanded its HP value portfolio with additional product lines in Sweden and Hungary, adding to existing HP value agreements in Belgium and Spain. During this time the company has also secured new IBM agreements in Germany, giving further strength to the value business in this significant market.

The terms of the interAct transaction, including purchase price, were not disclosed.
