Die Reinigung einer PV-Anlage ist keine triviale Aufgabe und sollte im Abstand von rund 5 Jahren durchgeführt werden. Verschmutzungen, die sich über das Jahr hinweg anlagern –beispielsweise Blütenstaub, Vogelkot, Rußpartikel, Laub- schmälern die Leistung einer Anlage um bis zu 10%. Eine Schmutzschicht auf dem Material kann auch fein sein, aber einen doppelt negative Auswirkung auf die Effizienz haben: das Licht wird durch diese Schicht teilweise abgefangen und somit geht ein nutzbarer Teil der Sonnenenergie für die Zelle verloren. Zudem blockiert der Schmutz auch abgehende Strahlung, was zu einer Aufheizung der Oberfläche und somit zu einer zusätzlichen Leistungsreduktion führt. Diese Ablagerungen werden allerdings nicht hinreichend von Regenwasser entfernt. Die Erfahrung hat gezeigt: die Selbstreinigung durch Niederschlag beträgt bei Modulen mit einer Neigung von unter 15° quasi Null. Doch auch bei steiler aufgestellten Anlagen kann die Leistung durch Reinigung merklich gesteigert werden. Voraussetzung ist natürlich die fachmännische Ausführung- denn PV-Module sind sensible Patienten. Die Verwendung von Leitungswasser muss natürlich vermieden werden, da sie zur Ablagerung von Kalk führt. Herkömmliche Reinigungsmittel dürfen ebenfalls nicht benutzt werden, da sie meist zu aggressiv sind und das Material angreifen können. Doch eine durchweg mechanische Reinigung würde die Module zweifelsohne beschädigen. Der Solarexperte iKratos ist ein qualifizierter Ansprechpartner für solche Aufgaben – an die 300 Anlagen werden jährlich von dem Energie- und Solarprofi aus Weißenohe gereinigt und gewartet. Von welchem Hersteller die zu reinigenden Module sind, spielt für iKratos keine Rolle. Und sollte es nötig sein, werden auch Ersatzmodule montiert, um die Anlage weiterhin optimal betreiben zu können.
