Machine Vision lights now load-free and with fast switching

(PresseBox) (Suhl, )
High Power LED flood lights and LUMIMAX® branded lights with external controllers from iiM AG are now fitted with new switch inputs. These Switch inputs provide users with very simple, load-free switching of the lights – optimal in interaction with a Machine Vision camera.
The simple integration and connection of Machine Vision components within a machine
environment is a topic, which image processors always have to consider. The primary goal
here is to produce analysable camera images that are suitably illuminated at the time of image
acquisition. Only in this way, test criteria or objects can be optimally assessed. By improving
the electronic components of LUMIMAX®-branded Machine Vision lights, it is now even easier to connect the camera and light with each other. The use of opto-isolated switch inputs in the lighting electronics makes controlling the light via the camera programming very easy and flexible. The light can thus be switched load-free (high or low-side) via an SPS (24VDC) or TTL (5VDC) signal at precisely the time the image is taken. The LUMIMAX® T-adapter cable is the perfect link at this point between the camera and light. It allows the light to be connected directly to the camera and enables synchronous switching when the image is taken. As the LEDs are exclusively switched for the moment of the image acquisition, heat development is correspondingly lower. In conjunction with the already good heat management of LUMIMAX® LED lights, the LEDs offer a longer service life. The fast switch inputs are integrated into all LUMIMAX® High Power series LQ, LR, LB, and spot, and in the external controller PLC2. This switch technology can thus also be used for the dark field ring light DFL50, the ring lights CRC CD50, CRC100 and CRC150 as well as for all lights in the DOM series.
