IdentAlink und Byometric Systems join forces

Erste multimodale "IRIS-Finger-Gesicht" Identitaets Management Software

(PresseBox) (Berlin/Mitterfelden, )
Press Release

IdentAlink and Byometric Systems enter into cooperation.

IdentAlink extends it’s Identity Management Software by adding Iris Recognition provided by Byometric Systems GmbH.

Berlin/Mitterfelden, August 19th 2004 – IdentAlink will now include Iris Recognition in it’s multi-layered biometric software, BioPassport™ Enterprise Server. Thus far IdentAlink’s customers could choose Fingerprint and/or Face-Recognition for identity verification purposes. “There is an increasing demand for security solutions based on Iris Recognition” explains Identalink Limited Managing Director, Elmar Hilgers, “therefore we are very pleased to enter into cooperation with Byometric Systems”.

This assessment is confirmed by Byometric Systems’ Managing Director Alexander Lau: “Since Iris Recognition proved of value in High Security Environments like Rhein-Main-Airport in Frankfurt, where a biometric based border control system is currently being tested – with high acceptance among travellers – we at Byometric Systems can confirm an increasing demand from companies for comprehensive but flexible security solutions.” Lau is convinced that IdentAlink’s BioPassport™ Enterprise Server is easily up to the mark in this respect “IdentAlink’s Identity Management Software is totally platform independent, hardware and software wise. As a consequence there is no need to change the customer’s existing infrastructures. All areas are covered, including logon to networks, intranets, applications, secure communication, physical access as well as time & attendance systems.”

The flexibility of IdentAlink’s solutions, offering multilayered biometrics, is appreciated by Lau equally: “There is little point in using Iris Recognition in all environments. If a customer wants to protect the access to his workstations with fingerprint scanners, he should have the opportunity to do so. In a high level security environment like a laboratory the customer might prefer the contactless Iris Recognition, where the employee can leave his gloves on.”

Both companies are convinced they will strengthen their respective positions in the market by their cooperation. Initial joint projects are already underway.

The new combined product will be introduced on the Security Exhibition at Essen, Germany on October 5th, 2004.
